I booked this hotel because it appears to be “ out of the ordinary “ not your run of the mill type of experience or place. Indeed it is!!! It is a most unique and beautiful place. I’ve travelled quite a bit and this reminded me of places in Morocco ( Esoura, Spain but 40 yrs ago!, if your looking for “ off the beaten path “ YOUVE FOUND IT HERE! Staff are welcoming ( as i was arriving i got a not about joining us for New Year’s dinner! ) i love that personal touch. You dont get that with a chain .
We have stayed at Quinta Maria Cortez three times over the past eight years. Each trip we find something new and unique. They’ve done many additions and the place is very nice. For an elegant experience I highly recommend a visit. The staff is wonderful and extremely welcoming. PS: It’s a very easy taxi or Uber ride downtown.
We absolutely loved our holiday. The room and the view are spectacular and the staff is so friendly, attentive, and kind. I especially LOVE the beach here; it’s small and quiet (essential for a good holiday) and also beautiful. 20 Minute walk into the romantic zone and a bit further for centro. There are three pools, one on the rooftop with a 360 view. I was almost put off by the construction complaints in some reviews but we’d already booked so we decided to just go. We’re so glad we did. The construction is not ideal but it didn’t interfere with our enjoyment at all. We could definitely hear it in our room during the day but who comes to a place like this and stays in their room all day???
Attention: major construction noice all around immediate surroundings with loud blasting and drilling that starts first thing in the am and doesn’t stop until 6pm. It’s a surprise that you find out only once you check in. The hotel is gorgeous and I was shocked at how beautiful my room is. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel type setting, you’ve found it with only 22 rooms and all loaded with character and charm. The beachfront was also unusable and full of rock so you’re paying for a beachfront hotel without access to the ocean and if you just want the sun…well I guess you can sit there with earplugs or earphones to try and block out the construction noise. They told me upon checking out that there was a better beach I could have walked to but this would have been better knowing earlier on. The restaurant was lovely. Limited menu but everything was superb as well as the service. Location was a lite remote…you’re taking a cab every time you want to leave. Also: the taxi is too expensive. Download IN Drive app and you’ll save 50-100 pesos per ride. It’s better than uber and more realistic. It’s a bright green app on the App Store. Cheers
Hotel is AMAZING from the moment we walked in and were treated by Fabian the service was outstanding. Quirky hotel with well appointed rooms, and a staff that was caring and more than helpful. Jesus in the bar/restaurant was outgoing and made all the guest feel appreciated and welcome. Location is amazing right on a small secluded beach with spectacular sunsets and killer views. The hotel is multi level with lots of stairs, but offers a miriad of views from right on the beach to amazing rooftop bar.
